Jesus himself says in the book of Matthew “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the PEACE MAKERS. Why does he says peace makers? Because shalom is an active, not a passive force in our world. It’s hard work to make shalowm with those who have wronged you. It’s hard work to make shalowm with those who have ideals and thoughts about how the world should work that are dangerous to you and your family. It’s hard work to be a peace maker — but peace makers are the ones whom Jesus says will be called children of God.
