Boldness in Faith

Day: 20

Scripture

2 Timothy 1:7

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Main Idea

Today, we're talking about a topic that's close to my heart – boldness in our faith. And we're grounding this talk in 2 Timothy 1:7, which says, "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." This verse, it’s a game-changer. It tells us that the spirit God has given us is not one that shrinks back in fear. No, sir! It’s a spirit of power, love, and self-control. That’s a spirit that steps up, that stands firm, that loves fiercely and acts wisely. I want to tell you, embracing this truth transformed how I approach life. It's not about being reckless; it's about recognizing the incredible power we've been given through our faith. Power not to dominate, but to serve; not to tear down, but to build up in love. And let's talk about love for a second. This boldness we're called to – it's grounded in love. Love for God, love for others. It's this love that drives us, that gives our boldness a purpose. Self-control, now that’s a vital part. It’s easy to mistake boldness for unbridled expression, but that's not it. Our boldness is tempered with wisdom, with self-discipline. It’s about making choices that honor God and reflect our faith in action. So, here’s the takeaway: Live boldly. Step into that power, that love, that self-discipline that God has placed in you. Whether it’s in your workplace, your home, your community – be bold for Christ. Keep walking in boldness, everyone. You’ve got this because God’s got you.

Live boldly. Step into that power, that love, that self-discipline that God has placed in you. Whether it’s in your workplace, your home, your community – be bold for Christ.

Application

Where can you be more bold in your life? Ask God what step you can take today to walk more boldly.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the spirit of power, love, and self-control. Help us to live boldly, to reflect Your love in our actions, and to exercise wisdom in all we do. May our lives be a testament to the bold spirit You’ve given us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
