Wisdom For Leaders

Day: 9

Scripture

Proverbs 4:7

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding.

Main Idea

The reality is every one of us are leaders. Did you know that you are actually called to lead yourself? That can be a leadership challenge on its own! Statistics have shown that the average individual influences and leads over 10,000 people in their lifetime. Let’s explore what God’s word says about cultivating wisdom for those who lead. In Proverbs 4:7, we are reminded, "The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight." As leaders, whether in our families, workplaces, or communities, seeking God's wisdom is the foundation of effective leadership. This new year is not just the start of a new season in time, but an opportunity for growth and refinement as leaders. James 1:5 echoes this sentiment: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." What a reassuring promise! God invites us to seek His wisdom without hesitation. As we continue on this 21-day prayer and fasting journey, let us make a commitment to pray for wisdom in our leadership roles. Wisdom is not just about making smart decisions; it's about discerning God's will and leading with a heart surrendered to Him. Let our leadership be marked by humility, compassion, and a deep reliance on the wisdom that comes from above. We encourage you to dedicate time to seek God's guidance for the challenges and decisions that lie ahead in your life. May your personal leadership, your professional leadership, how you lead in your home, or even how you influence those around you in every aspect of life reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to His name.

As leaders, whether in our families, workplaces, or communities, seeking God's wisdom is the foundation of effective leadership.

Application

What do you need to adjust to create the impact that you want to see? If you currently are a leader in your workplace, answer this question; If you were one of your team members that were led by your current self, would you be satisfied? How often do you ask God for wisdom in your leadership development? What can you do on a daily basis to remind you to include God in your leadership?

Prayer

God, I ask you to help us to lead. To lead we need your wisdom. Starting with self leadership and how we influence and encourage those around us. May we be an example of Godly leadership this year, influencing and inspiring people towards your best for their lives, a great relationship with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
