For All to Know Jesus
Day: 5
Scripture
John 12:32
And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.
Main Idea
Have you ever experienced something that you wanted everyone to know about? Maybe it was an engagement or the birth of a new baby. Or maybe it’s a promotion at work or a big life change. When we have something like that, we just can’t wait to tell everyone about it. But as wonderful as those things are, we’ve been given something even greater to declare. In John 12:32, Jesus said: “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.” This is a very bold claim Jesus is making about Himself. He is saying that He has the power to draw all people to Himself and that He needs to be lifted up. This is a symbol of the death He would die, but also representative of the worship He is worthy of. Jesus was telling us that by being lifted up on the cross, His death would give the whole world the opportunity to be in relationship with God. This is why the Gospel is called Good News! And do you know what? As Christ followers, you and I need to lift Jesus up on a daily basis. We are to constantly look for ways to bring His Name into conversations with family, friends, and co-workers, declare what He’s done for us, as well as what He wants to do for them.
As Christ followers, you and I need to lift Jesus up on a daily basis.
Application
Have you ever shared the Gospel with someone? What is stopping you from sharing the Good News of Jesus? Is it fear, lack of confidence, not knowing what to say, or something else?
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for allowing yourself to be lifted up on the cross for our sins. Because of you, we get to experience the joy of knowing you. Today, we are asking you to help us to not keep the best news ever given to ourselves. Show us how we can boldly lift high your name to those around us. Amen!
