Seek First: God
Day: 17
Scripture
Matthew 6:31-33.
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Main Idea
We're here today to explore a comforting scripture, Matthew 6:31-33. "Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This passage speaks volumes, It's a gentle yet powerful reminder that our focus should be on God’s kingdom and His righteousness. When we do that, our physical needs, which He’s fully aware of, will be taken care of. When we let go of our anxieties and focus on God, He takes care of our needs in His way and time. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it. Keep your eyes on God, and trust that He will provide for you in ways you can't even imagine.
Our focus should be on God’s kingdom and His righteousness. When we do that, our physical needs, which He’s fully aware of, will be taken care of.
